Agreement between the Council and the EU Parliament

The EU Council and Parliament agreed on a law regulating the use of artificial intelligence (AI), the Spanish Presidency of the EU Council announced on its X account.

Madrid reported that the parties reached a "provisional agreement on the AI ​​law." Furthermore, he explained that the initiative aims to ensure that "AI systems installed and used in the EU are safe and respect fundamental rights and European values."

For his part, Thierry Breton, Commissioner for the Internal Market, wrote in his X account that Europe "becomes the first continent to establish clear rules for the use of AI."
