The Russian Embassy has resumed its work in Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso) after a hiatus of 31 years.

On December 28 in the city of Ouagadougou, in development of the agreements reached during the meeting of the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, with the President of the transitional period of Burkina Faso, the Head of State Ibrahim Traoré, held on the sidelines of the second Russia-Africa summit in Saint Petersburg, the official opening ceremony of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in this African country took place," the Russian Foreign Ministry reported.

With the opening of the Russian diplomatic mission in Burkina Faso, Moscow hopes to increase foreign policy coordination with Ouagadougou and strengthen friendship and cooperation between both countries.
