Meeting of the Argentine Foreign Minister Diana Mondino with the Indian ambassador
Yesterday, Foreign Minister Diana Mondino held a meeting at the Foreign Ministry with the Indian ambassador, Dinesh Bhatia.
During the meeting, Mondino referred to the measures that the new Argentine Government is taking in favor of the stabilization and liberalization of the economy, and the prospects for facilitation and growth of commercial exchange that are generated as a consequence of those. He also expressed Argentine interest in diversifying exports to India and attracting investments from that country.
For his part, the Indian ambassador highlighted the importance of his country as a commercial partner of Argentina and referred to a wide range of sectors where there is an Indian presence in our country: defense, energy, telecommunications, pharmaceuticals and satellite industry, among others. He also pointed out the Indian interest in extending this presence to other sectors of the Argentine economy, referring to hydrocarbons, lithium and railways.
Bhatia recalled the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations in 2024, within the framework of which he invited the chancellor to visit India.
Finally, the ambassador expressed his country's intention to expand the scope of the current agreement with MERCOSUR. Foreign Minister Mondino welcomed the proposal and highlighted the progress in the South American bloc's negotiations with the European Union and EFTA, as well as the Agreement with Singapore.
